The clocks have changed, the daffodils are out, and the sun might be gracing us with the odd warm day—which can only mean one thing: it’s time to spring into wedding planning! Whether you’re newly engaged or knee-deep in Pinterest boards, spring is the perfect season to breathe new life into your plans and start ticking off that to-do list with fresh energy and clarity – so let’s delve into some spring wedding planning tips!
As a luxury florist and stylist, I know that planning a wedding can feel a little overwhelming at times (hello, 27 open browser tabs), but with a clear head and the right support, you’ll be well on your way to creating a beautiful, personal celebration that reflects your love story.
Here’s how to make the most of this season when it comes to planning your wedding:
1. Revisit (or Create) Your Vision Board
Now is the time to take stock of your ideas. What colours, styles, or vibes are you loving? What have you grown out of? Your vision board should reflect you as a couple—not just what’s trending. If you’re not sure where to start, check out some of the 2025 wedding trends like bold colour palettes, sculptural florals, and statement lighting.
Pinterest and Instagram are amazing for inspiration—but try not to get overwhelmed. It’s easy to fall down the rabbit hole of dreamy wedding content and come out the other side wondering if you need a llama in a flower crown. (Spoiler: you don’t. Unless you really want one.) Use these platforms as a jumping-off point, not a blueprint. Take the ideas that spark joy and fit your vibe—but always come back to you. This is your love story, not someone else’s styled shoot. Your day should reflect who you are as a couple, not just what’s trending on your feed. Narrow things down to 2–3 key themes or aesthetics that feel right to you.
2. Book Key Suppliers (If You Haven’t Already!)
If you’re planning a summer or autumn wedding in 2025, now is the time to secure your big-ticket vendors. Venues, florists (hi 👋), photographers, and caterers tend to book out far in advance. The earlier you can lock in your suppliers, the better—especially if you’re planning a destination wedding in Scotland, where castle venues and top-tier vendors get snapped up quickly. 3. Finalise the Feel of Your Day
This is the season to firm up how you want your wedding to feel. Relaxed and romantic? Chic and modern? Wild and whimsical? This will influence everything from your floral design to your tablescape styling. I always say that the flowers are more than just flowers—they’re about creating a mood, a vibe, and a story that runs through your entire celebration. Think about how you want your guests to feel the moment they walk in, and let that guide your styling decisions.
4. Tackle the Tablescape
Let’s talk tables—because they matter more than you think. Whether you’re going for long banquet-style tables or classic rounds, now’s the time to plan your layout, linens, glassware, and candles. Beautifully layered styling makes such a difference to the overall aesthetic, and I’m always here to help you design a cohesive look that ties everything together—from the blooms to the napkin ribbons.
But beyond the aesthetics, tables are where it all happens. They set the tone for your wedding breakfast and make a huge difference in how your day flows. Banquet tables can feel social and immersive, encouraging conversation and connection, while rounds can feel classic and inclusive. Your tables help your guests relax, chat, laugh, and really settle into the celebration—it’s about more than just where people sit. It’s where memories are made.

Embrace the Season You’re In
Spring is all about fresh starts—and some even call it the second New Year! So throw open the windows, grab that iced coffee, and let’s get stuck in. Use this burst of new season energy to get excited, book those meetings, and keep your to-do list moving. And if you’re getting married in summer or autumn this year? It’s time to:
Basically: get out in the sunshine and get sh*t done!
Above all—take a breath. Wedding planning can (and should) be fun. Find your people, trust your team, and remember that your wedding is ultimately a celebration of you two. Everything else is just the cherry on top.
