Some weddings are more than just a single day—they’re a full-on experience. And Chloe & Ryan’s wedding at Kinnettles Castle? Well, let’s just say they understood the assignment. A multi-day extravaganza, three (yes, THREE!) incredible dresses, and a last-minute venue switch that had me redesigning an entire floral plan on the fly—challenge accepted. Truly a stunning, deeply personal, and joy-filled weekend that perfectly blended romance, tradition, and nature.
After working with Chloe for three years (yes, you read that right—she booked me before they were even officially engaged), this was a wedding I was buzzing to bring to life. And let me tell you, it did not disappointed!
A Wedding Three Years in the Making (And Worth Every Second!)
Some brides book a florist when they start planning. Chloe booked me before she was even engaged (a girl who knows what she wants—my kind of bride!). Chloe is the kind of bride I dream of working with—passionate, creative, and completely invested in making her wedding feel like a true reflection of her and Ryan. (a girl who knows what she wants—my kind of bride!). That’s the level of vision we’re talking about here. From the very first Zoom call, we clicked.
Her dream?
A woodland wonderland—lush greenery, rustic textures, soft organic florals, and a setting that felt completely immersed in nature.
And then, as weddings (and life) love to do, things changed. A slight last-minute venue switch meant we had to take her woodland dreams and rework them for a castle terrace & marquee setting at Kinnettles Castle. No big deal—just a total rework of the floral design and logistics.
But hey, what’s a luxury Scottish wedding without a bit of high-stakes creative problem-solving?
Bringing the Woodland to the Castle (Because We’re That Good)
Originally, Chloe & Ryan’s ceremony was meant to be deep in the woods, surrounded by towering trees, wildflowers, and all the earthy, enchanted vibes. But with the venue switch, we had to bring the woodland to them—and you bet we made it happen.
A Grand Floral Arch: Instead of a natural forest backdrop, we created a lush, floral moon gate arch filled with cascading greenery, delicate blooms, and soft moss textures, transforming the castle terrace into its own fairytale setting.
Rustic, Mossy Tablescapes: Inside the marquee, we went all-in on moss runners, wooden logs, and organic floral arrangements to keep that enchanted woodland feel alive.
Cascading Greenery & Origami Cranes: This wasn’t just a pretty wedding—it was personal. Chloe & Ryan strung handmade origami cranes through the hanging greenery in the marquee, and honestly? It was adorable.
Woodland-Inspired Details: Bringing in rustic logs, textured moss, and wild-inspired floral arrangements meant that even though the venue changed, the feeling of their woodland wedding remained exactly as they envisioned.
Basically, we built a woodland inside a Scottish castle. And that, my friends, is how you adapt a vision without losing an ounce of the magic. It was a true testament to how florals and styling can completely transform a space, adapting to new surroundings without losing the heart of the design.
Highland Cows, Three Dresses & A Whole Lot of Personality
Beyond the florals, Chloe & Ryan’s wedding was dripping in personality and killer details.
Highland Cows: Because no Scottish castle wedding is complete without some fluffy VIP guests making an appearance. The couple made sure their big day felt quintessentially Scottish, and the iconic Highland cows added the perfect touch.
Three Dresses: Chloe didn’t just do bridal fashion—she owned it. She wore three stunning dresses, including a traditional African gown for the evening reception, bringing in a beautiful nod to her heritage.
Little Rubber Ducks on the Tables: Yes, you read that right! Chloe & Ryan had adorable rubber ducks as part of their table decor—just one of many personal touches that made their wedding feel so them.
Personalised Handwritten Letters & Menus: Instead of generic place cards, they went above and beyond, creating personalised, handwritten letters for every single guest. It was such a beautifully intimate touch that made everyone feel extra special.
Bees, Bees, Everywhere: Bee stamps on the menus? Cute. Real bees landing on Chloe’s bouquet? Actual Disney princess energy. There’s even a picture of her holding one—iconic. A sign of good luck if ever there was one!
That Moment When It All Came Together…
After three years of planning, countless emails, Pinterest boards, and one very dramatic venue change, seeing Chloe’s face when she walked into her reception? That was the moment. You know the one—where a bride sees everything come together, gasps, and tries not to cry while simultaneously beaming with happiness.
And honestly, I can’t say it better than she did herself:
Chloe & Ryan’s Wedding at Kinnettles Castle –
Kelly was phenomenal from start to finish. From our first Zoom call back in 2021 when we started to discuss my woodland wonderland dream, Kelly was so helpful and supportive. She immediately put me at ease and suggested loads of amazing ideas of how she could bring my vision to life. Kelly went above and beyond, nothing was ever too much, she stuck with us despite a last-minute venue change. Kelly came with us to view our new venue and completely re-imagined the plan in order to fit the new venue. Kelly listened to all of my concerns with the new venue and put in place a new proposal to address all of the issues raised. She was such a calming presence throughout the entire planning process. I loved how Kelly would send inspo pics and links to Pinterest or Instagram. Kelly was so invested in our wedding and it was lovely to know she really cared.
On the weekend of the wedding Kelly and her team were amazing! The flowers were perfection—the bouquets, the buttonholes, the hair pins, the moon gate, the tables, and the woodland installation. Everything was breathtaking. Kelly’s enchanted woodland wonderland creation was everything I’d dreamed of and more. Stepping into the reception and seeing the beautiful tables and installation was one of the most spectacular and surreal moments of my life. There are really no words to describe how incredible everything was. Kelly’s talent knows no bounds. I could not recommend Wildflower & Willow enough. I’ll have to find a reason to host another event so I can work with Kelly again in the future!
