Let’s talk Christmas…

Sorry guys – it’s October – I’m going in! The big C is coming, and I’m busy making plans here at Wildflower & Willow.

One of my most treasured things about the Christmas season is seeing everyone catching up with friends and family, and spending quality out of ‘work’ time with colleagues. Everyone is always so busy, but for some reason we all make time in the run up to Christmas and it just fills my cup right up.

That’s what I really love about running a wreath workshop – I mean the finished wreaths look amazing, and really level up your home for Christmas – but my favourite thing is seeing a group of you all together, taking time out to have fun and get crafty – it’s so good for you!

It’s the perfect activity for all levels – no one needs to have done it before, or have any experience whatsoever, just a lovely way to explore creativity without any pressure! I’ll be there to lead you through techniques, and give you all the info needed on the flowers, foliage and accessories we are using, but at the end of the session everyone has something entirely unique and beautiful in it’s own way!

And take it from me, working with flowers, and creating something beautiful, is so soothing and fulfilling – just what’s needed at the crazy time of year! If this doesn’t sound like the activity for you, here’s some other great ways to get crafty with florals at Christmas –

• Pop outside and forage some foliage – keep an eye out for traditional Christmas sprigs of holly, ivy or other evergreens and tie a substantial bunch together with an elastic band. Then attach a hanging loop with some festive ribbon and a big bow (a wide ribbon elevates the look). Then pop your hanging foliage bunch on your door in place of a wreath!
• Make a foliage garland – similar to the above, go foraging and make your own natural garland – for your mantle, table or even staircase!
• Elevate a standard bunch of flowers with some foraged evergreen branches for an extra special Christmas arrangement!
