Johanna and Christian’s wedding at the stunning SCHLOSS Roxburghe Hotel in Kelso was nothing short of magical. The couple’s special day was a beautiful blend of elegance, romance, and classic charm, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of this historic venue.

The UK wedding industry is renowned for its elegance and tradition, yet I believe, as many others do, that there remains a significant gap in representation and inclusivity. As we move towards a more diverse society, I believe it’s essential to recognise and celebrate everyone who makes up the fabric of modern weddings, and put more focus on inclusive weddings as vendors.

In an age where environmental consciousness is becoming increasingly vital, and prevalent, sustainability in the luxury wedding industry is coming into conversation much more, and us vendors need to step up to the challenge. More and more couples are not only seeking opulence and elegance for their special day but are also looking for ways to ensure their celebrations are kinder to the planet. From breathtaking venues to exquisite floral arrangements, the luxury wedding sector is finding innovative ways to merge glamour with green practices. 

Scotland is a killer destination for a wedding – there’s no denying that. We are so lucky with our venues, our landscapes and our traditions that it’s often a popular decision for that away from home wedding – whether you’re coming up from London to get to the countryside, you have family heritage from here or you’re coming from much further afield to enjoy all Scotland has to offer. As you may have read in my last blog post (if not go here to read it) I come from a corporate background so efficiency is super duper important to me. And I think it’s what makes me a little different from other wedding florists – it’s not all the time that you find a creative person that also bloody loves a good system! 

So, recently I had to send some supporting information into the Scottish Wedding Awards (you can find out more about them here) and it made me reflect on my journey with Wildflower & Willow and I cannot believe how quickly time goes! I left my corporate job in August 2021 to be full time self-employed in Wildflower & Willow and it just struck me that it was now pretty much 2 and a half years ago!
