I cant believe it’s June again – let’s chat June wedding flowers! The start of every summer to me marks another year doing this thing I love! I never expected floristry to be the thing I’d fall head over heels for. It started as a creative escape from a job that didn’t fill my cup, and quickly became something much bigger – a business built on heart, beauty, and the joy of telling stories through flowers.
Wildflower & Willow was born from my true love of seasonal flowers and a desire to create bold, enchanting florals that bring magic to special moments and events. Bringing love stories to life, seeing smiles, filling the air with beautiful scents, and helping create lasting memories – this is what I live for.
I’m endlessly inspired by the couples I work with and the chance to bring their love to life in florals. I genuinely pour myself into every single bouquet, buttonhole, table arrangement, and ceremony arch, and I still get emotional seeing it all come together on the big day. Because flowers aren’t just pretty extras – they’re part of your story.
That’s why I love the start of June. It’s not just the turning of the calendar – it’s the true beginning of flower season here in the UK. It’s the time when nature gives us her best work, and I get to play with the most beautiful blooms of the year.
June in Bloom: What’s in Season and Why It’s Better
June is one of the most beautiful months for UK weddings. It’s that sweet spot of early summer: not too hot, not too unpredictable, and absolutely bursting with stunning seasonal flowers.
Choosing flowers that are in season doesn’t just mean fresher, longer-lasting blooms (although that’s a huge win). It’s also more sustainable, more budget-friendly, and more connected to your date and place.
June Wedding Flower Highlights: What to Know & Why They Work So Well
Here are some of my favourite flowers for June weddings – and why they’re not just beautiful, but brilliant choices for your big day:
Peonies – The showstopper of early summer weddings. These lush, cloud-like blooms are only available for a few fleeting weeks, making them extra special. Their romantic ruffles and pastel tones add softness and elegance to any bouquet. Because they’re so in demand, I always recommend chatting early if you’re dreaming of peonies – they can go fast!
Sweet Peas – Delicate, lightly scented, and full of whimsy. Sweet peas are ideal for adding texture and movement to your bouquet. Their subtle shades and fluttery petals bring a softness that feels quintessentially English garden.
Garden Roses – Think of these as the elevated cousin of the classic rose. Full of scent, texture and romance, garden roses come in a huge variety of shades and shapes and are perfect if you want a luxe, timeless feel without being too traditional.
Delphiniums – These tall, spire-like flowers are ideal for large installations or to add drama to ceremony arrangements. Available in dreamy blues, purples, and whites, they’re brilliant for adding structure and height without feeling too formal.
Nigella (Love-in-a-Mist) – A cottage garden favourite that adds a unique look to arrangements. The lacy petals and soft blue tones are lovely on their own, but it’s the quirky seed pods that add textural interest later in the season.
Scabiosa – Light, floaty, and a little wild – scabiosa adds movement and depth, especially in looser bouquet styles. The muted, dusty tones also pair beautifully with more vibrant colours or pastels.
Cornflowers & Daisies – For couples who love a more natural or boho look, these wildflower staples are perfect. Daisies bring cheerful simplicity, while cornflowers offer bold pops of blue and a nod to British heritage.
Ammi Majus & Achillea – Often used as fillers, but no less important! These create that soft, ‘just-picked’ look and help everything feel meadowy and relaxed. Ammi brings in those Queen Anne’s lace vibes, while achillea gives you clusters of colour and texture that tie everything together.
All of these can be sourced locally in the UK throughout June, meaning less air miles, less packaging, and blooms that are truly at their best. You get flowers that last longer, look more vibrant, and support local growers. Win-win-win.
Showcase Spotlight: A Real Wedding Review
Here’s a peek into the floral magic from one of my wonderful couples:
“It’s really hard to sum up my experience with Kelly at Wildflower & Willow in a few paragraphs! From our very first meeting to the very end Kelly was an absolute rock! I wasn’t sure what I wanted and how but Kelly brought my scattered ideas to life beautifully with her own professional and creative touches.
Both my husband and I felt very safe with Kelly, we knew from our personal discussions she would get it right but honestly, I was blown away by the final masterpiece! I was in floods (so was my mam!)
My bouquet was colourful, vibrant, full of texture and wild – just perfect. The bridesmaids’ bouquets, all individual and matched with the personality and dress style/colour of each of my gals, which I thought was awesome and such a personal touch!
The table centrepieces were mini meadow replicas of a favourite spot in London – I was lost for words!
When times can get stressful or pressured, Kelly goes out of her way to help, even when it’s not flower related. She gave expert advice on table decorations, candle holders and colours and even let me borrow some of her vases at no extra cost – so kind and helped massively with the wedding anxiety!! It’s clear that Kelly has one thing at heart, and that’s giving you the best day ever!”
