Johanna & Christian’s wedding at the stunning SCHLOSS Roxburghe Hotel in Kelso was nothing short of magical. The couple’s special day was a beautiful blend of elegance, romance, and classic charm, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of this historic venue.
A Palette of Perfection
The color palette for Johanna and Christian’s wedding was carefully curated to enhance the natural beauty of the venue and reflect the couple’s vision. Greens, whites, and touches of deep blue were woven throughout the day, creating a harmonious and sophisticated atmosphere. The florals were thoughtfully chosen to reflect the season, with a focus on whites, creams, and lush greens, adding texture and creative interest while maintaining a classically beautiful aesthetic.
An Elegant Ceremony
The ceremony took place outdoors on the lawn by the fountain, with SCHLOSS Roxburghe providing the perfect setting for such a momentous occasion. To frame the moment, we created symmetrical floral statements with statement urns on pillars, adding an air of grandeur to the ceremony. These stunning arrangements were designed to be versatile, allowing them to be moved and repurposed for other areas of the venue after the ceremony.
The aisle was lined with ground-level arrangements, guiding Johanna and Christian to the altar in a natural, elegant way. These floral designs perfectly complemented the romantic and luxurious atmosphere of the day.
Transforming the Marquee
After the ceremony, the statement urns were relocated to the entrance of the marquee, where they greeted guests with their lush greenery and floral beauty. Inside, a meadow-style arrangement adorned the area in front of the stage, while greenery was suspended from the ceiling, bringing the feeling of a woodland indoors. This ceiling greenery worked beautifully with the mirror charger plates on the tables, creating stunning reflections that added depth and visual interest to the overall design.
A Feast for the Senses
The reception tables were adorned with small compote-style arrangements, delicately placed on mirror charger plates that mirrored the greenery above. The tables were further enhanced by white dinner candles, which added a warm, intimate glow to the evening. Deep navy ribbons tied around the napkins provided a subtle yet striking contrast, tying the whole design together.
An Unforgettable Celebration
Johanna and Christian’s wedding was a day full of love, joy, and unforgettable moments. From the bilingual master of ceremonies to the epic music provided by House of Sax, every detail was thoughtfully planned to create a celebration that was both meaningful and memorable.
The couple’s personal touches were evident throughout the day, from the Polaroid guest book to the amazing outfit changes that saw both the bride and groom transition into stunning evening attire for a black tie reception. Johanna’s first dress by Sassi Holford and her second dress by Alexia Maria were complemented by elegant shoes from Manolo Blahnik and Gianvito Rossi, making her every inch the classic bride.
A Sweet Finale
No wedding would be complete without a show-stopping cake, and Johanna and Christian’s five-tier masterpiece from Angelou Patisserie & Ladurée was truly the icing on the cake—literally! The classic buttonholes and structured all-white bridal bouquet, along with the satin-wrapped bridesmaid bouquets, added to the timeless elegance of the day.
In the end, Johanna and Christian’s wedding was a perfect blend of classic and contemporary, set in one of the most beautiful venues in Scotland. It was a day that will be remembered not just for its beauty, but for the love and joy that filled the air, making it a truly magical celebration.
