The wedding altar symbolises the unity of the couple and their families coming together. It marks the beginning of their journey together as a married couple and represents their commitment to each other. In the past couples were perhaps restricted by their wedding venue as to how they could decorate the altar, but now with weddings taking place in a whole range of settings – the sky’s the limit when thinking about how you want your altar to look and feel.
The wedding ceremony is undoubtedly the most important part of your wedding day. And it’s the most photographed. The altar where it all goes down – the vows, the rings going on, the first kiss – it’s the centre point – so you want it to have the perfect backdrop!
The altar should feel special, be beautiful, even smell great!
But what can do all those things Kelly you ask? A kick ass wedding florist of course!
The altar is a prime place for a flower installation – as formal or informal as your vibe is. You can go timeless and elegant with tall standing arrangements, traditional archways and candles or organic and natural with flower meadows, lot’s of smaller arrangements or even decorating the ceiling! The possibilities are endless…
Whether it’s through flowers, candles, or other decorative elements, the altar becomes a reflection of your love and personality and through excellent floral design (wink wink) will be unique to you, even if others use the same venue for their wedding day. The flowers during the ceremony sets the tone for the entire day and definitely leaves a lasting impression on guests, so I like to really think about what we can do here to make it special.
But won’t that cost a lot Kelly?
Perhaps but the best thing about altar installations is we can move them to your reception space later – double bang for your buck! I’ll always strive to get the most for your budget, so anything we do in the ceremony space will likely be used elsewhere later in the day, and will most likely provide a cracking focal point at your reception – an ideal photo spot for guests!
