Are you one of the lucky brides that received an engagement proposal under the Christmas tree?
If you are, congratulations – I’m so happy for you!
Once you come out of your engagement bubble you may begin to feel overwhelmed, here’s some Wildflower & Willow advice…

Think about timetables
People are going to be asking A LOT when the wedding is. While you can’t necessarily decide on a date until a few other big decisions are out of the way, start to think about what season you would like, how long you would like to plan, and get a rough idea of your timeline.
Set your budget
Most of the big decisions, or almost all decisions, can’t be made without your budget. It’s never the most fun conversation, especially if it involves others, perhaps family, but right at the outset get a good idea of what is available to you, and what you would like to spend on your wedding – remember it’s yours! Some people are comfortable spending tens of thousands, other’s hundreds – it’s your call!
Think about guests
While a guestlist isn’t needed at this time it is a good idea to have a rough count up as this may inform your decision with regards to venue, budget etc. Remember this will need to be refined a few times!
Start a Moodboard
Start collecting imagery and ideas of what you like – but the key for me here is to try not to focus too much on the elements of the image, the exact flowers etc. Focus on the vibe of the images, how they make you feel – that’s the most important!
Build your crew
Get people on your wedding team that you like, that gel well with you and understand your vision for your day.
No room for bad juju here!
Look for experts in their field that you can trust to support you to make the most epic day – give me a message to book your favourite luxury wedding florist!
