With September truly underway let’s chat about all things cosy, orange and some Autumn floral inspiration!
I BLOODY love Autumn; blue skies, candles, gorgeous leafy backdrops and just cold enough to bring out the knitwear, but it is truly the time of year when we can best appreciate mother nature for all her beauty isn’t it!
As you know I always try to use seasonal flowers, not only because they will shine brightest at their own time of year, but also as a sustainable practice. Although Autumn blooms can be tricky to predict, especially in the UK depending on weather, a little flexibility can bring your dream wedding floral vision to life.
Autumn’s floral colour palette naturally sways into deeper, richer tones and definitely adds a luxury feel to any design!
So what flowers are taking centre stage for Autumn weddings?
Dahlia’s are always a good option- coming in a range of colours, sizes and shapes, it’s easy to find show stopping bloom you adore.
Sunflowers are a classic early autumn choice, especially orange and red toned heads in comparison to the traditionally seen yellow.
Amaranthus is so dramatic, and great for adding texture and length to bigger installations, especially those mounted on ceilings, walls or staircases.
Lastly hydrangeas are a traditional, yet beautiful choice with a range of tones from muted to deep, and make a fantastic filler for bouquets and installs based on their size.
What I think Autumn gives us though, is really an opportunity to think way way out of the box wiith wedding flower design – harness the traditional season to explore really dramatic pops of colour, ombre arrangements, go wild with greenery or even explore more alternative natural additions like autumn leaves, branches and other natural elements!
Burt pleeeease make sure there is an epic tree at your venue for those *chefs kiss* photos!
